Bren Dubay’s accomplishments include:

  • Seven years as the Lillian Kaiser Lewis Foundation Playwright-in-Residence at Rice University in Houston, Texas
  • Awarded Walter E. Dakin Fellowship in Playwriting at Sewanee Writers’ Conference
  • Recipient of a five-year support grant from the Walter B. Sharp Memorial Fund
  • Recipient of a LGR Travel Grant for three years in a row
  • Selected to be a writer-in-residence at Ragdale Foundation in Evanston, Illinois
  • One of six writers chosen to participate in Art Within’s Writer’s Lab
  • One of twelve writers selected to participate in Collegeville Institute’s Writing for Mystic Activists Workshop

Recognition for scripts include:

  • Irish Mist received an extended run in Plovdiv Bulgaria’s Evmolpiada Theatre
  • Angleton Grill selected to tour Eastern Europe
  • Tom and Darla was one of the winners of the Texas Playwrights’ Festival at Stages Repertory Theatre
  • Howling at the Moon Through Ice Cubes in a Glass selected for  New Script Festival at the University of St. Thomas
  • Two plays — Secrets and Irish Mist — nominated for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize
  • Irish Mist was one of three finalist in the South Carolina’s Playwrights’ Festival
  • Irish Mist selected for the Tennessee Women’s Theater Project
